About Honeyants

A chance meeting at a toddler group in Sydney, Australia led to a meeting of minds as Swedish mothers Erica Lofqvist and Irene Hagstrom began discussing their common disappointment in the lack of well designed children’s fashion with the colourful retro vibe typical of the Scandinavian clothing which they both loved.

Much talk and many 'should we or shouldn’t we?' moments led to the creation of Honeyants in June 2008 with the successful launch of the first collection in November that year.

Their design philosophy is firmly grounded in the playfulness and honesty of children and the beauty of the environment.

This funky range of unisex children’s clothing is produced using certified organic cotton grown in Australia. THe cotton fabric is unbleached and printed with water based inks using the jet and wash exhaust method, thereby, transferring dye gradually to the cloth in order to create a colour fast fabric that endures. The dyes all conform to the Oeko-Tex standard.
