More Money Than Sense…?

Filed under: News — julie @ 10:09 pm

While I was pregnant with my first son I obsessed about being the best parent I could possibly be and with no close friends or family members with babies or small children that I could turn to for advice  I read voraciously, every baby book and parenting magazine I could get my hands on. Some of the books were almost Nazi in their approach to babies routines and the magazines had one purpose only  - sell, sell, sell! The pages seemed to pulsate with essential products and although I can put it all down to hormones now, I was certain that to deprive my, as yet, unborn child of any of these would surely result in Social Services paying me a visit!. As a result I overspent and ended up with a mountain of unused items as I deemed it necessary to have everything possible for any eventuality.

Just for kicks I had a little look around for the most unnecessary baby products, and Mama Pajama, I could turn this post into a novella with the results but here are my favourite three…

In no particular order (they all freak me out just a little!) The Redneck Pacifier available from www.babysmiles.co.uk

Seriously, why would you...?

The baby Toupee. I kid you not. www.babytoupee.com

No Baby, No Cry.

No Baby, No Cry.

And lastly, perhaps the zaniest of all, The Zaky, devised to feel just like mummy for the insecure baby. No new parent should be without one *snigger* Available from www.pregnancystore.com

I don't know about comforting, I think I'd fill my nappy if I woke to find disembodied hands cradling me.

All of these items are available for you to purchase if you feel that you really must, however, if it’s cool and contemporary you’re after you should check out Bambino Goodies where Natalie and her regular contributors will have you salivating over practical tasteful, products worth having in your home.

  1. Geez… this is really too much ! Imagine all 3 together, baby sucking on pacifier, wearing toupee AND being comforted by the Zaky. Scary stuff…..
